Mission Statement: Our mission is to support IHM&W members by communicating with state government to ensure that the interests of reputable moving companies are being met. We are committed to fostering a spirit of education, information and best practices sharing, goodwill, networking, and consumer awareness.
Mover’s Messenger
A bi-monthly publication entitled, Mover’s Messenger, is provided to all members. This informative publication contains the latest news and happenings with the IHM&W and general moving and storage information.
Annual Convention
The annual convention is held the first weekend in December in Indianapolis and is open to member and non-member moving companies and vendors. The convention agenda includes a Friday evening cocktail reception and a Saturday general business meeting. A continental breakfast and lunch are provided on Saturday. Over the years, we have had many excellent guest speakers, including the AMSA’s president Joe Harrison, van line CEO’s, van line panel discussions, government and law enforcement officials and vendor suppliers.

Each member of the IHM&W, annual convention vendors and associate members receive an annually published membership directory.
Annual College Scholarship Award
IHM&W awards an annual college scholarship award to a deserving student. The scholarship is $1000.00 and is paid in two (2) $500.00 increments, $500 for the fall semester and $500 for the spring semester. Summer school is not eligible. There are deadlines to meet. Associate Membership

These brochures are only available through the IHM&W. You can order now by completing the form below and faxing the order to Linda Harris at 317-481-1406. The cost for these brochures is truly a bargain for members only – at $12 for a shrink-wrapped package of 50 and this includes shipping. They are also available to non-members at a cost of $20 per package of 50 including shipping.
These brochures should be provided to each and every customer moving within the state of Indiana. Much like the Rights and Responsibilities booklet on interstate moves, this informative brochure assists customers in understanding the moving process in Indiana and will help improve our image as true professional service providers. IHM&W Lifetime Achievement Award
The Board of Directors has approved a new service award that will be presented at our annual convention. This new award is called the Lifetime Achievement Award. This award may or may not be given each year, it will be given to an individual who is deserving of such award.
- This new award is presented to an IHMW member who:
- Has Served the Moving Industry for more than twenty-five years.
- Has Served the Moving Industry Ethically, Fairly & Professionally.
- Has worked Diligently in their Community to Help Other Less Fortunate.
- Has Earned an Excellent Reputation for Providing High Quality Service to Customers.
We will have a special nominating form available for members to complete for consideration of this award.
